New York based photographer Tina Tyrell began taking pictures in high school and has worked professionally in the medium since the age of 18. Her artful approach to image-making is marked by a direct connection to her subjects often with a playful bit of irony. Whether it takes the form of fashion, still life, or portrait, an endeavor into her subject's interior worlds, real or imagined is what drives her storytelling.
Her editorial work has appeared in Buffalo Zine, CR Men's Book, Harper's Bazaar, Interview, New York Magazine, Noon, The New York Times Magazine, Hero, Numéro Homme, Pop, Vogue, and WSJ and been commissioned by brands including Balmain, Chanel, Calvin Klein, Dunhill, Marc Jacobs, SSENSE, Stella McCartney, and Uniqlo.
Her personal work and writing was recently presented in a solo exhibition entitled 'Song for the Young' at Soloway Gallery, Brooklyn.
